Police and Fire softball has a long-standing history in the state of Texas. Teams such as the Houston Javelinas, the Pasadena Pack, the Ft. Worth Panthers, Dallas Diablos, San Antonio Fire, San Antonio Law, and the dominant Houston Police Department teams with various names, have been playing high-level softball for years. Teams such as the Austin Bullets, Team Texas, the Cartel, DFW Metro Fire, and Dallas Axemen have continued the tradition.
